Trolling for Trophy Fish
As we troll the waters, our experienced crew will be on the lookout for signs of fish activity. If you hear the crew yell "HOOOOOOOKUUUP!", it's time to spring into action! If you're one of the lucky anglers handed a rod with a hooked fish, get ready for an epic battle. Here's what to do:
- Start reeling in hard and keep the nose of the reel high to maintain control
- As you fight the fish, keep a steady pace and wait for the crew's instructions
- When you see the fish, yell "COLOR!" and our deckhand will expertly gaff the fish and bring it on board
Kelp Patties, Birds, and Surface Action
If we spot a promising kelp patty, diving birds, or surface action, we'll motor up and announce it to give you time to prepare. Here's what to do:
- Get your free line rigs ready and baited
- As we approach the spot, drop your hook into the water and let it swim away with the reel in neutral
- When you feel the fish take off, put the reel in gear and get ready to fight!
