This stretch of ocean is particularly famous for its incredible tuna fishing, which is prolific during both the pre-season and post-season months. The Mexican Outer Banks are a unique geological formation, where the continental shelf drops off sharply into the deep waters of the Pacific Ocean. This creates a rich ecosystem that supports an abundance of marine life, including some of the most prized game fish in the world. Tuna, in particular, are a major draw for anglers, with species like yellowfin, bluefin, and albacore calling these waters home.   During the pre-season, which typically runs from April to June, the tuna fishing in the Mexican Outer Banks is nothing short of spectacular. The waters are teeming with baitfish, and the tuna are eager to feed on the abundant sardines and anchovies. The fish are also more concentrated during this time, as they begin to migrate towards the warmer waters of the equatorial Pacific. In addition to tuna, the Mexican Outer Banks are also home to a variety of other species, including dorado, yellowtail, and marlin. Dorado are a common catch in these waters, and can be found near the surface, feeding on schools of baitfish. Yellowtail are also abundant, and can be caught using a variety of techniques, including trolling and casting.
