You are going deep. Back side of San Clemente, Mexican waters, outer banks, Tanner and Cortez Bank, are amoung the favorite destinations of this trip. All summer long this trip will specifically hunt Blue Fin, Yellow Fin, Yellow Tail, and Dorado.

Full Day

Full Day.

12 hours is a lot of time to work with! During the summer months, 2 of those hours will be for travel. 1 hour each way to the Tuna grounds, between 20-40 miles offshore. Once your there its game on for 8-10 hours of solid pelagic sport fishing!

Coronados

Coronados.

Located just 15 miles south in Mexican waters, this island is a 1 hour boat ride. Some of the best Yellow Tail fishing in the world! You will also find giant Lingcod, Rockfish, and Dorado.

3/4 Day Charter

3/4 Day.

This trip usually runs to the nine mile bank or La Jolla, during summer months you will be targeting yellowtail and dorado, bottom fish, bass fishing on the surface, and generally fishing the hot bite, what ever it may be that day! The trip is nine hours.

Half Day Local

1/2 Day Local.

Enjoy a brief but effective run to the local kelp beds and rock piles off of Point Loma and La Jolla. Calico, Sandbass, Rockfish, Lingcod, Whitefish, and Halibut! If you are lucky, maybe even a yellowtail during the summer months. 6 Hour Duration.

Fish Species We Hunt

Blue Fin Tuna

Blue Fin.

The Blue Fin Tuna or "BFT" as we call them, are here every year from June until the end of October, and sometimes longer. Our full day, 1.5 day and extended range charters can put you on the big trophy tuna that you have been looking for your whole life!

Yellow Fin Tuna

Yellow Fin.

Known for their unstoppable fighting power and delicate and highly sought after Sushi & Sashimi, this is no doubt a world class fish. Hop on one of our Tuna Specific offshore trips and we will put you right on top of a big one. During July - Oct you will have the best chance.

Yellow Tail

Yellow Tail.

During the summer months you can find these fish under almost every patty that you can find. Excellent eating fish that should not be underestimated. Distinctly shaped like a torpedo, they live up to this reputation by running away with your line quite often.

Dorado

Dorado.

One of the most colorful fish in the sea, when you hold them up to the light they shimmer in multifaceted green, blue, and yellow. Truly a sight to behold. Not only a great fighting fish, but one of the best tacos made by man.

Marlin

Marlin.

What more can you say? Every body knows that if you are lucky enough to hook and land a Marlin, you have had a very special experience. But this fish is difficult to find, and even harder to put on the deck. Let us show you how.

Swordfish

Swordfish.

Swordfishing not only takes specialized equipment, but also specific knowledge of the species. Our experienced Captains and crew know exactly what to do to put you on this once in a life time tropny fish.

Spots We Fish

San Clemente Island

San Clemente Island.

If you want massive blue fin, this is one of, if not the MOST productive spot on the entire map. This place is almost always holding tuna. Most of our overnight and multiday trips start here. The backside is known for pre-dawn jig bites, and this is a lunching spot for the other nearby banks. During summer months is best.

Tanner and Cortez Banks

Tanner & Cortez Banks.

These two spots represent the far end of a 1.5 day overnight trip, and is a common destination for all long range trips we offer. These banks come very close to the surface, even causing surfable waves at times.
The underwater structure attracts all types of large pelagic predators, which is exactly what we are looking for.

Mexican Outer Banks

Mexican Outer Banks.

Mexican international waters means no passport for these multiday trips. Enjoy the outright crazy fishing on any of these deep banks that are south and south west of San Clemente island. Home of giant blue fin, yellow fin, and Dorado, you will likely find that you are one of only few boats fishing the unpressured spot.

9mile

9 Mile and Middle Banks.

9 miles offshore, and 14 miles from Point Loma, this spot is our most frequently fished favorite due to its closeness and the fact that it HOLDS fish all summer long. School size tuna, barracuda, yellowtail, dorado, swordfish, marlin, Ive seen just about every species you can catch in these waters hauled aboard right here. 3/4 Day or longer needed.

Coronado Islands

Coronado Islands.

The Coronado Islands hold fish all year round, and when no place else is biting, you can still depend on this island to fill the boat. Every species we chase can be found here. From giant tuna during the summer, to Lingcod, Rockfish, Yellowtail, White Seabass, and Halibut, to name a few. When you are fishing here you are protected from swells.

La Jolla

La Jolla and Point Loma.

Made famous by its Yellowtail fishing, this spot also holds large size Calico Bass, Sand Bass, Barred and Spotted Bass, Halibut, Whitefish, and Rockfish. You can fish this spot year round with good results. During the summertime this is a very popular spot and can sometimes be crowded. When it is we move slightly south to avoid the crowds.
